Energizing Yourself Eight Ways to Power Through Your Day Do you wish you had more energy, so that you can maintain focus and deliver high-quality work throughout the day? According to the Royal College of Psychiatrists, one in five of us feels tired at any given time. [1] Low energy levels can be caused by several things, including: 1. Lack of sleep. 2. Poor diet. 3. Lack of exercise. 4. Depression. 5. Burnout/stress. 6. Low motivation. There are several ways that you can give yourself a quick boost: 1. Rehydrate yourself. 2. Use light. 3. Take a walk. 4. Listen to music. The Institute of Medicine recommends an adequate water intake of 125 ounces for men and 91 ounces for women drink per day. [2] (Tip: It doesn't have to be water!) There are also plenty of ways to energize yourself in the long term: 1. Eat healthier food. 2. Exercise regularly. 3. Find meaning in your life. 4. Look at your schedule. Along with boosting your energy, exercise also lowers your risk of depression, chronic disease and early death. Follow these tips to energize yourself and achieve your best throughout the day.
