Discover Work You Love! "Find a job you love, and you'll never work another day again." - Confucius Use the Meaning, Pleasure, Strengths Process to find a job you love. [1] When was the last time you really enjoyed working on a project? Chances are, what made it enjoyable was: 1. It matched your personal values. 2. It brought you pleasure. 3. It was a challenge that stretched your strengths enjoyably. Discover the work that you love by following these three steps: 1. Think of your values and ask yourself, "What gives me meaning?" Write your answers down. 2. Ask, "What gives me pleasure?" It can be anything that brings you joy. Write your answers down. 3. Ask, "What are my strengths?" Write them down. Look at your answers, and explore any elements that overlap. Meaning: making people happy. Pleasure: helping others. Strength: problem solving. You should pursue the type of work where meaning, pleasure and strengths meet. References [1] Ben-Shahar, T (2007) 'Happier,' New York: McGraw Hill © 2022 Mind Tools by Emerald Works Ltd.
